Final Goodbye
A great view of Tower Bridge
Final Capstone & Reflections
It’s Been Fun
My two-week trip to London is coming to a close. I have learned a lot during this journey and I am very happy to have had this experience. Global Advertising and PR has given me an area of expertise within my major as well as experience in world travel.
The Digital World
Through my area of expertise and its focus on the digital medium, I have discovered that brands are spending more time and money on their online presence. I also found out some similarities and differences with the creative brief for digital between the U.S. and UK. The similarities lie in how both countries realize the importance of the creative brief. Each country looks at the creative brief as the staple that holds each and every project together. Also, both professionals in the U.S. and UK explained that the creative brief influences a digital campaign the same way it would affect a campaign for any other platform. I found the differences to be within the specific content of the brief.
This semester-long project has taught me how the brief is evolving along with the digital medium. I also learned tips on how to write an effective creative brief. The most important piece of knowledge that I have gained is how important it is for advertising professionals to understand user experience and functionality online.
Online Presence
This course has shown me the true importance of keeping up an online presence. Through building my first e-portfolio and blog, I am leaving this experience with great material to bring into future interviews and to show future employers.
Final Farewell
Through this study abroad experience, I have learned a lot about the group of students I have come here with. This has lead to good relationships that I know I will continue when we return to the states. I also had the opportunity to learn about another culture. London is one of my favorite cities I have visited, and I can’t wait to return someday.
